Why Remixes are the way they are today...
Got this post from http://whatsinmyheadphones.com Just Blaze does an interview for Soul Culture and explains why remixes don't take on new production beats like they used to back in the day. It's all for Money...damn BDS (also know as Radio Broadcast Data System) Take a look...

So for my 1/4 of a century BDAY the big Two Five I had to work but I'm always game to work especially if I need the money. So back to birthday aka work day lol, I had the opportunity to work on Lady Gaga's video Alejandro. This video was pretty huge in set up. The Director, Steven Klein, was the mastermind behind the idea. Gaga of course had a say in how she wanted it to go but she trusted Steven's direction to take her to a new look. Steven is well known for his still photography he has worked with celebrities such as the Rolling Stones, Madonna and Brad Pitt to name a few. This was his first music video, but it didn't seem like it, you could tell he had a lot of ideas he wanted to take, but he pretty much stayed the course. During the music video he also used a "Photographer's Tool" which you don't see a lot on music videos. As a matter of fact I've never seen or shall I say heard anybody do this on a music video set which was playing music of the mood. Basically during photo shoots photographers will play music to help the talent in becoming relaxed or setting the mood for which the photographer wants the talent to act. During Gaga's non performing scenes that's what Klein did, the sound technician played music other than the Alejandro Track. To me I think that's a great idea especially if your trying to have an artist or talent feel in a specific mood, note taken. Overall the shoot was long but went well and I'm curious to see it.
